Lunar Glass Dome?
This may be a photograph of the extraordinary glass dome covering the region of the moon known as Sinus Medii. It was taken by the unmanned Surveyor 6 on November 24, 1967, one hour after sunset. Note the glowing beads all along the visible horizon, and the highly structured, semi-transparent material showing up high above the lunar surface. NASA's explanation: "Forward scattered light caused by small, elevated particles of lunar dust scattering sunlight from beyond the visible horizon".
