The end of the internet is nigh!

Naw ... this is not another thread about the Orange One's diapers.

A vulnerability has been discovered that affects about 70% of web sites, including this one.

Lots of major ones use Cloudflare, for example. Sites are going to "read only mode" until the uber geeks can think up a fix for it.

You can read about it here.

It doesn't affect us much because

1) I haven't uploaded the registration page so you are all posting anonymously
2) Since there are no members in the database, there is nothing to hack, and
3) I always store your passwords as a "salted hash", so even if somebody got access to the database, they couldn't read anything

Basically, we have nothing to steal. And I've always kept it that way.

So that's why a lot of web sites have been either fucked up or down in the last day or so.

Just FYI.

RE: The end of the internet is nigh!

Somebody should keep an eye on the stock market and let us know how things are going today.

Since a lot of stores don't take cash anymore (Walmart, for example), this situation could become entertaining.

I hope the server farms have a few of us "outdated" php admins left to install the updates.
