Drinking just two cups of tea a day could reduce the risk of ovarian cancer, says a new study.
A study of more than 60,000 women in Sweden found those who drank two or more cups of tea a day had an almost 50% lower risk of ovarian cancer.
The research follows various studies which have indicated that green and black tea may provide protection from several types of cancer.
But the team from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm said that few studies had examined the relationship specifically between tea consumption and the risk of ovarian cancer.
Each year about 6,900 women in the UK are diagnosed with ovarian cancer, with more than 4,600 deaths annually.
