Kentucky Sheriff Accused of Shooting Judge at Courthouse

LETCHER COUNTY, KY (WYMT/WKYT) - One person is dead after a shooting at the Letcher County Courthouse.
The Mountain Eagle is reporting that Letcher County Sheriff Mickey Stines is accused of shooting District Judge Kevin Mullins in his office.
The coroner confirms one person was killed in the shooting but did not identify that person as Mullins.
Details are currently limited, but we do know there is a strong police presence. We know several area schools were placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon due to the shooting.
