A former Richmond Hill Police officer now faces at least decade behind bars after he lured two underage teenage girls to meet him for sex.
Jeffrey Allen Allmond Jr, 25, was found guilty of one count of coercion and enticement of a minor by a federal jury on Wednesday.
The conviction stemmed from an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation that found "Allmond engaged in inappropriate sexual acts with an underage female on multiple occasions."
Evidence shared with the courtroom revealed that Allmond met with the two girls, aged 15 and 16, having first made contact with them on Tinder, while he was still a police officer.
He began communicating with his two victims via Snapchat where he arranged to pick them up in the middle of the night outside of the Fort Stewart army base, where the girls were living at the time.
Allmond then drove the girls back to his apartment and "performed sexual acts on both of them", prosecutors revealed.
He then returned the girls to the Fort Stewart gate and proceeded to communicate with the two girls on the photo-sharing app.
The 25-year-old met with the minors two more times, where he subjected them both to more sexual abuse.
Allmond, who was hired by the Richmond Police Department in July 2017 was placed on administrative leave on August 22 last year, when the allegations first came to light.
Federal charges were filed against him just days after and Allmond was fired from the police force immediately.
"This repugnant crime victimized the children of active-duty military personnel while disgracing the badge of a law enforcement officer," Bobby Christine, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia said. "Hard time in federal prison awaits those who would engage in such despicable behavior."
GBI Director Vic Reynolds added that Allmond had violated his oath of office by "preying on minors he swore to protect."
"No one is above the law," Reynolds added. "The protection of innocent victims is a priority in the state of Georgia."
Allmond could spend 10 years to life in prison and has to register as a sex offender if he's released, according to the DOJ. He also won't be eligible for parole in federal prison.
