MAYHILL, New Mexico - Most people who drive by the Mayhill convenience store are just getting from point A to point B. But once you get out of the car and take a closer look, you"ll see signs people on Facebook are calling offensive, sick and racist.

"It's been here a long time," said Marlon McWilliams, who used to work at the store. "… If you go in there and you offend him, you can't go in there no more. He turns lots of people away."

McWilliams hasn't worked there for years, but the signs are still there.

"They weren't the same ones, but they were similar," he said.

Some signs make fun of the Clintons instead of the Obamas.

"He sells those signs to people who come through and stop and read them," McWilliams explained.

Now McWilliams says he tries to avoid going inside.

"They're offensive to me from time to time, but you know that's my opinion," he said. "That's the way I feel."

He and other customers say there's not much they can do about it.

"Everybody has their own beliefs," traveler Jacob Gutierrez said.

As it turns out, the store is up for sale for $359,000. McWilliams thinks it"s priced too high.

"I wish somebody would buy it," said McWilliams. "I really do, because it would be a great asset for somebody to be there to run it. Because that's the only place you can go to get milk and bread."

The owner of the store could not be reached for comment.
