Georgia County To Add 'Crash Fee'

DECATUR, Georgia - Some victims of car crashes in DeKalb County will soon have to pay a $250 fee for the first time.
The county adopted the fee for anyone who must be extricated from a crash by the county's fire department. The service previously had been free.
County officials said the new charge will put $750,000 into county coffers at a time when it faces a tax hike and layoffs to balance its budget.
